We offer hands on classes to help you develop and refine the skills necessary to master your next project. All of our classes are hosted at Boyd's Sewing Center, by expert Instructors, that can teach you how to use your machine and its accessories. Many of our New Machines purchases come with Free, instructional machine operation classes, to help you learn how to use and maintain your new Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machine.

Doll Class is an ongoing Monthly Class. In this class you will create beautiful garments for your 18" (American Girl size) Doll. Each month there will be a "New Project". Many of the techniques learned, can be applied to regular size garments. One of Pam's students actually designed and created her own wedding gown, and it was gorgeous! " Advanced Basic" sewing knowledge and skill level are all you need to participate. Since the conception of Doll Class, Pam has done everything from Tailored coats, hats, dresses, heirloom, costumes, and so much more. After each class Pam will announce the next's month's project, at which time the supply list will be provided. Patterns will not be available to anyone not attending class. Come spend the day and have fun!!!

Premier +™ 2 Software Classes

Software classes will be held in two separate sessions (morning and afternoon). The class will be held on the 3rd or 4th Monday of each month. The exact date will be posted by the first day of each month. The Morning class will be basic techniques,and will start at 10:00 am. and will be 1-1/2 - 2 hours. The Afternoon class will be a specialty techniques class and will start about 12:30 pm and will also be 1-1/2 - 2 hours . Each class is a separate class. You can attend only 1 or both classes. This is a great way to meet new people that sew. You can come and go as you please. You bring your own sewing machine, project and the general sewing supplies you will need for your project. There is NO Teacher. Participants help each other and the staff can answer questions or help when possible. The goal is to make new sewing friends, and share or get expertise from other sewers. The classrooms have cutting tables, rotary mats and irons for your use.
OPEN SEW is the last Thursday of every month PLEASE NOTE: NO OPEN SEW ING AUGUST

Boyd's Embroidery Club

Pam Novak, who worked for Boyd's Sewing Center for over 16 years as Educational Directoress and a Viking Sewing Specialist teacher, retired in December of 2012. She really missed seeing everyone, and has decided to start up her Embroidery Club again, as an outside (Non Staff) teacher. Pam is a Viking "Teacher Tech', certified, Viking Educator, and has spent countless hours in specialized Viking training courses to be able to present a very comprehensive embroidery program for you.
Embroidery Club is open to anyone who owns a Husqvarana Viking Embroidery machine, models D-1, D-SE, Topaz, Ruby, Diamond or Epic. Each month a new, hands on project will be taught . You will learn about the proper Stabilizers for the project, Templating, Threads, Needles, how to use the Embroidery Features on your machine, and (Sew) much more. Come have a day full of fun, meet new people, and learn new embroidery techniques.

Beginning Free Motion

On Wednesday, October 16th, instructor Karen Miller, will be teaching a Beginning Free Motion Quilting class. In this class, you will be shown how to prepare your machine (set-up) for free motion and learn the basic techniques needed for Free Motion quilting. This is a hands-on class and does require your machine to have feed teeth drop or a cover plate for your feed teeth, and a free motion foot. Class time is 10:00 am- 1:00 pm.
