September, 2022 | 10:00am to 2:00pm
Join us at Boyd's Sewing Center for a monthly technique class for Epic 2, Ruby 90 and Epic owners beginner to advanced. The goal of this class series is to learn how to use more of the stitches and functions that your machine has to offer. Over 20 class techniques are from the education that Husqvarna Viking offers each dealer.
The class would be 2 hours of instruction introducing the technique. Then 2 to 4 more hours of hands on sewing a project using the technique learned. A list of materials to bring will be supplied prior to the class. We recommend getting a 3 ring binder to store all of the handouts for later reference.

MOVED to October 4th One Block Wonder Quilt Top with Greg Barner
October 04, 2022 | 10:15am - 4:00pm
Instead of starting with a particular pattern or design and then trying to find fabric that will fit the pattern, this approach begins with the fabric: the fabric is the key element. Kaleidoscope blocks, each one unique, are produced by aligning the printed design on several layers of fabric and then cutting and sewing triangles together. Each triangle repeats color and pattern to create a new design for each block. Once the blocks are made, you begin to design your quilt.
- Class Cost : $40 , bring your own fabric
- Fabric Cost from Greg : $60/5 yards
- Book Cost : $20 (book is required for the class, if you have any of Maxine Rosenthal's One Block Wonder Books you can use that)
Please call or stop in to sign up or for additional information! 231-946-4011

Boyd's Embroidery Club
October, 2022 | 10:00am - Finish
Pam Novak, who worked for Boyd's Sewing Center for over 16 years as Educational Directress and a Viking Sewing Specialist teacher, retired in December of 2012. She really missed seeing everyone, and decided to start her Embroidery Club again. Pam is Viking "Teacher Tech', certified, a Viking Educator, and has spent countless hours in specialized Viking training courses to be able to present a very comprehensive embroidery program for you.
Embroidery Club is now open to all makes and models of machines; you will need to be familiar with setting up embroidery for your machine. You must be able to adjust thread tension and have recent practice with embroidery on your machine. We recommend you bring your manual when you come. The club is intended for making projects, not a class on how to use your machine. Each month a new hands on project will be taught . You will learn about the proper stabilizers for the project, templating, threads, needles, how to use the embroidery features on your machine, and (Sew) much more. Come have a day full of fun, meet new people, and learn new embroidery techniques.
Special Note: If you are interested in joining, or would like more information on Embroidery Club, PLEASE email Pam (not the store) at email@example.com
